Another stupid newbie question. I am trying to rip a double-sided dvd with four parts on it (sort of like two seperate movies on both sides). The problem is when I try ripping with SmartRipper all I can find is the first part on either side. How do I find and open the second set of files on each side? Parts 1 & 3 are useless without parts 2 & 4. I don't have much hair left, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Smartripper shows you the "Program Chains" on the DVD. Simply select the other chain when the first one is done!

Example: On a Friends DVD there are 8 episodes, 4 on each side... Smartripper finds 4 program chains on eacht side (one for each episode). When I select the first program chain I rip the first episode...the second chain the second episode and so on!

So just explore the program chain menu window of Smartripper...the big chains are the movies most of the time.

And don't call yourself a stupid newby, we've all been there! ;-)

Well, DUH!! Lo and behold right there it is. I checked and rechecked the chain several times before posting and would swear it wasn't there.

I really am a newbie, though. This is only the second rip I've ever done. Love this new machine! From the old 6GB 500MHz to the new 100GB 1.7GHz - seems almost infinite in comparison. Whee!

Maybe not so dumb...just blind.

Thanks Deznaj. You definitely steered me back in the right direction.

Watch for the dumb, blind and bloody scalped newbie...I'm sure I'll be back.
