I won an Ebay auction for 100 Verbatim DVD+Rs. Normally, these come in retail packaging and actually say Verbatim on each DVD. The two 50 packs the seller sent me don't have either the packaging nor do they say Verbatim. I think I got the old bait & switch scam pulled on me. Before I go postal, I've read that different brands have different grades (ie various Ritek qualities), is it possible these are still Verbatim, but a grade that does not have the lable on them? Is there a way to determine the brand of a DVDR (maybe by the hub serial #?). Please advise.

Usually quality media will have a label....unless a printable or something, in which case - do what nephilium suggested

hi:

when you use the dvdinfopro program Verbatim dvd's should come up with a media code of MCC which stands for Mitsubishi Chemicals. Those are the real McCoys...regards

Nero 6 has (under Nero Toolkit) an app called Nero CD-DVD Speed. Click on Extra, Disc Info, and it will tell you the same info as using DVDInfo. But with Verbatims, it could show CMC Magnetics as the manufacturer.

It depends, the Metal AZO Verbatims are Mitsubishi Chemicals.
