somebody can tell me wich mpeg encoder works better?, i want to encode some mpeg1 videos to mpeg2 to burn them on a svcd, thanks

there will be no real differance in quality converting a mpeg1 file to a mpeg2 file, but its up to u. i use TMPGEnc for all my conversions, you can download it and be able to encode to mpeg2 for 30 days after that you'll have to buy the full version to be able to convert to svcd/dvd indifinatly.
