bittorent slow with router even with port opening?

i have a d-link 614+ and am using bittorrent but it is very slow. i get a yellow light that never chagnes to green. i opened up the ports on the router i think and open the ports on windows xp but it still does not change to green. can anyone please help?

the problem is with you router dlink bad choice
check that your firewall on xp is switched off.
