I have CloneDVD and notice in the "options" tab it only offers "DVD-5" and "DVD-R v1.0 (3.95Gb)", but I also notice in hte main menu under "Select Output/Split Disc" it offers copy entire disc (even if content is greater than 4.36Gb). Now I assume this burns only to Hard Drive but does anybody know if it will burn to a DVD-9 blank with a DVD-9 burner?

maybe you should invest in buying clone dvd2
after the initial read of the dvd the tab at the bottom can be clicked and where it says 4700 meg ,my version when i tried it also had dvd5 options or custom. As i havent got dvd-r blank media to try it on i am assuming that what you suggest is feasible as i could change the size in meg.

Anyway just a thought let me know if it worked

The new version of CloneDVD make a 1:1 copy. So, a DVD9 will require 2 DVD+R. At least, this is what they said in the download page of CloneDVD under
www.CloneDVD.net
I use version 1.3.11.2 with AnyDVD

CloneDVD is an easy to use, wizard-driven DVD-9 to DVDR backup software. It is capable of backing up either the complete DVD including all the chapters, extras, and menus, or just the selected titles. If necessary, CloneDVD will compress the video content to fit a single, 4.3 gigabyte DVD-R. I have clonedvd2 it will back up everything if you chose the 2nd button on the start up page.

The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. If you don't ask you will never know.

I see what version your talking about that is a knock off its junk use the one by Elby. Your clonedvd links in your first post pop up clonedvd2 for Elby so thats what I was going off. No one types out the full name of the product they have when you put in just clonedvd it will have 5 different hits for software. Yes there are 5 different clonedvd so just try to put the hole name in and even the maker you might have better luck in the search and maybe even get more help if people know what one your talking about I have clonedvd2 by elby verison 2.0.8.4 by I when I make a back up it will back up the hole DVD to one DVD I don't pick all the audio to back and I cut some stuff out for better % of compression. Clonedvd2 by Elby has a 30 day trial try it I'm telling you it will compress a 7.4 MB movie or how ever big it is down to 4.3 MB. You will need anydvd (30 day trial) to go with it some people use dvd decrypter I think that would take a really long time. Sorry I was talking about a different clonedvd2

The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. If you don't ask you will never know.

Yes, you can get clone dvd 2 to burn to DVD9s (as far as i can tell) select "Custom" as your source size and type in 8124 MB, this is the size that DVD Shrink has listed as the output for a DVD9.
