Here is the ATIP from one of the discs.

Manufacturer : Lead Data
Code : 97m26s56f
Disc Type : CD-R
Usage : General
Recording Layer : Dye Type 6: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)
Recording Speed : n/a
Capacity : 79:59.74
703 MB
Additional Capacity : n/a
Overburn Capacity : not tested

Dics rated for 52x. Guess what? Tried burning a full disc with Nero 6 using my TDK VeloCD CDRW drive at 52x. Tested it with Nero CD-DVD Speed & there were no errors on it! Perfect upward line with no dips.

I realize it's not the same quality as Ritek or TY but it's way better than that CMC junk!

Pretty good for $12 (100pk) at Fry's...

Why did I buy the GQ 100 pack? Well I'm down to my last 30 CMC (Imation) discs & I'm not buying any more CMC unless they change the packageging so I don't know it's CMC regardless of the outer brand. I just don't like CMC as it doesn't burn well (in my drive) above 32x.

I've used many a GQ discs from Fry's. I found that burning them any faster than 24X resulted in a tremendous amount of C2 errors when checked with PlexTools. Good stuff when burned slower though :)

Perhaps your drive doesn't like Lead Data as mine doesn't care for CMC. Maybe I got a batch of good discs because I've burned 4 of them at 52x with no errors. And I'm the guy that can't burn CMC discs faster than 32x without errors but these Lead Data GQ discs are burning fine. Tested them with Nero. No problems...

You got zero C1 and C2 errors -- more than once? That's possible yes but highly unlikely ... at least at 52x ... hell even 4x will give errors from time to time let alone at a "wreckless" speed of 52x. :)

Have you done a C1/C2 error check on them? Much different story than the standard Nero test :)

Yep burned & tested 4 in a row with no problems at 52x burn speed. However I plan to burn the rest around 48x which is fast enough for me. Even 40x is enough.

Any disc (Even TY & Ritek) fails (inmy drive) with Nero's CD-DVD Speed if I do both C1 & C2 error checking at the same time so I just test for C2.
