I cant seem to burn DVD-R DVD's in my HP 300n DVD/CD Combo drive. I have tried with Nero...and with Alcohol...but the drive wont read the blank disc. Can u help?

are u sure you are using -r and not +r because this drive wont read +r's but try this link for thr firmware update

I looked at the HP site and read that HP DVD burners support +r and +RW. No mention of -R at all. I have a nephew that has an HP burner and his doesn't support -R at all. Sorry.
