black n white AVI playback after installing PowerDVD

I've got FFDSHOW installed on my computer, which was working fine. But after installing PowerDVD i get black and white playback for any AVI file. My DVD's work fine. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I just found this thread and have the same problem on a windows 2003 box.
