The following comments relate to this news article:
article published on 11 November, 2010
Earlier this week we reported that just two weeks after LimeWire was permanently shut down by a federal ruling, a "secret dev team" had brought the P2P client back, dubbing it the LimeWire Pirate Edition (LPE).
The LPE has the Ask.com toolbar removed, all need for the LimeWire LLC servers removed, all remote settings disabled, and all LimeWire Pro features activated, for free. There is ... [ read the full article ]

"We have very recently become aware of unauthorized applications on the Internet purporting to use the LimeWire name."
"We demand that all persons using the LimeWire software, name, or trademark in order to upload or download copyrighted works in any manner cease and desist from doing so. We further remind you that the unauthorized uploading and downloading of copyrighted works is illegal."
Maybe read the article once again?
I don't trust Limewire now or in the past. You play the paying game.
The way things are at this point, I wouldn't trust any P2P network. you may become a broke-ass bitch the rest of your natural life.
BTW, F*** the RIAA, MPAA, Sony...................

Nah, they're just pissy cause they got caught and since people out on the Internet plain out there are using their software, they don't want anybody using it all, especially if the people at Limewire can't use their own programs/servers w/o being screwed. Oh well, there's always other P2P networks. Who needs Limewire if they whine like this? If anything, you would think they would be proud that somebody is using their program, and cry out 'Long live Limewire!', but no, I guess if you act like a baby, you get attention more these days. Screw em'!!

Who exactly are they sending cease and desist letter to? Looks like all they did was post a warning on a website. Probably did that just to cover themselves so they can tell the judge that they told them not to do it lol

Pretty vague warning since nobody actually knows who re-created and distributed it.

That person made a good point.
"Limewire PE" could very well be a trap
to catch and sue more users.
The RIAA legally Can get away with it.
