Intel slashes prices on SSDs

Intel has slashed the prices on their range of SSDs today, as well as adding a new, larger 120GB version to the line.
The line of X25-M maninstream drives will each see a solid discount as the holiday season approaches.
Starting with the 160GB model, the MSRP will drop to $415, the 80GB model will drop to $200 and the small 40GB will drop to $100.

Its not often you see one of the consistently best rated bits of hardware scaled down in price to the level of lesser rated competitors. That 120GB for $250 seems a steal compared to pricing other SSD's!

You'll be crying for more when you start installing applications that DEMAND a C: installation location and even more so when you simply install to that drive by convenience and instinct.
Practicality dictates that a mimimum of 128GB is what most will need if avid computer users.

128gig i don't think so, i have my 250gig partitioned into 2, a 50gig c:drive & 200gig d:drive. i have more room on my c: then i do on d:.

you just have to know how to point to installations in the registry. there are a very few programs that demand they be installed on the Windows Root,usually because there's a windows file or something they need on root which can be copied to any drive.
some program's don't even need to be registered at all.
I've installed Just Cause 2 to a dvd, just plop it in and play.

The 40 gig prices at $100 and the 80 gig prices at $200 have been like this for six months. I'm not sure what this article is even about.
