Chinese woman retweets joke, gets one year in prison labor camp

Cheng Jianping, a 46-year-old woman from China has been sentenced to a full year of "Re-education Through Labor" after she retweeted a joke her fiance had posted.

Stupid idiots...I`m so tired of these idiots from both countries, being retarded and involving innocent people in the process. People like this (from both sides) should be sent to jail so they can learn to stop talking stupid. Seriously there is people out there who have had nothing wrong done to them from both parties but are too stupid to think for themselves and are like sheep and just follow the flock. Which makes the problem more and more bigger and never end.

The North Koreans are kinder to most criminals. Instead of 1 year of forced labor that kills you after 9 months (and which does not end if you manage to survive a whole year), they just shoot you and end your suffering right there.

Err my guess is the "joke" doesn't translate well. At any rate they live in China so really shoulda known better...Not saying it's right but that's how they roll over there...

IS that what you really think they do?
If you were to defect to another country they send the rest of your whole family to labour camps for the rest of their lives doesn't matter the age so you have babies going to labour camps as well.
same deal for many crimes in north korea.
china isn't so bad they shot drug dealers dead in front of their family and all drug users are sent to detox camps.
just think 3-4 years ago they shut down all the internet cafes in the country because people were dying in them because they wouldn't get off a computer long enough to go and actually eat so food so would die from starving themselves.
so at times they are actually doing the best thing.
