I have a DivX movie and the resolution is 756 x 520, the movie is stretched so that everything it really tall. I want to know if there is a way of resizing the movie with out losing any quality. I tried resizing by re-encoding the video but there is a quality loss to the movie.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Aaron

Tall? Or do you mean wide?

I too have encountered badly-ripped video without the anamorphic stretch - very unfortunate! Your size is unusual, but if I understand your problem you would require approx 756x408 to represent a 1.85:1 aspect ratio...?
I was hoping someone knew a trick to resize easily, but I am able only to re-encode (bad news).
For what it's worth (I have a movie that is 720x360) you can resize the playback to 704x304 with the player, ie. DivX player. Then it is perfect to view!
But the sucker still sits on my HD @720x360.

That's pretty much what you have to do. Pass it through VirtualDub using the Resize filter. It might be faster if you did Null Transform+Crop

using avisynth and resize it during playback will save you from reencoding. otherwise, resize using the player.

True but a permanent solution is prolly more effective in the long run .... just my two cents :)
