Is copy protection removed when a DVD is ripped?

My television has only a single S-VHS input, and both the socket and the cable are difficult to access, so switching video devices that attach to the TV is not easy.

The copy protection on a DVD (bought or rented) does not permit me to "pass-thru" the signal from the DVD player to another device that is connected to the television S-VHS input. If I rip the DVD, will the ripped copy be able to pass-thru to the TV?

I know I can answer this question for myself by experimenting, but in case pass-thru of a ripped DVD is not possible, perhaps you can suggest a work-around.

Yes, the copy protection is removed when a DVD is ripped with software such as DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink or SmartRipper.

Theoretically the copy should play through the pass through though I've never tried it and may be wrong :)
