xvid divx avi converted to mpeg - audio prob

hi all , i have 1 file that says xvid divx avi , used

avsvideo converter to convert it to an mpeg
The file is
File : 174 MB (174 MB), duration: 0:21:37, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 44 %

Video : 154 MB, 996 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 512*384 (4:3), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported


Audio : 20 MB, 134 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

trying to convert to pal.(want to watch it on dvd-r)

I get a good conversion but the audio is out by a second or two.How do i re synch the audio.

I am using TMPGENC and TMPGENC dvd author as well as avsvideo converter

Any help appreciated

thanks guys for not answering this post, its only taken me 2 days to work out another way of converting xvid divx files to dvd-r.

Initially i tried both TMPGEnc and dvd author as well as the guide thats on this site to no avail.

An alternative program is one designed by Cucusoft avi2mpg then use TMPGEnc dvd author to finish the program.

The main goal was to synch the sound but after a couple of false starts including getting it perfect but the image upside down i now have completed this project.

if the whole thing is not sych than its proably offset, if at later times its off sync it propably a decoding error, or framerate conversion.

hi shiroh: i thought that was the prob but the original had no flaw in it and i did try all the functions and combinations in TMPGEnc but nothing would work.

trouble shooting is always abot what did you do before things got messed up.

so what you can do is ty to find the source of that problem, by checking it.

if you decode with v-dub. try playing the video with the decoded wav audio, mpc can do this, playing by seperate files. some players can too.

if the wav is good then it must be the audio encoded or the video.
the video try using 3:2 pulldown during playback instead of converting it, will produce better picture, and reduce percentage of messed up. :P

if TMPGEnc will not do the job, something else will, besweet or headac3he.

oh, PAL, to tell you the truth i never did a PAL encode.
