Lars Ulrick could have had his 6th gold-plated Ferrari by now if it weren't for Napster. You sons of bitches must pay for making him cry! Rabble rabble rabble!
with the UK music being more focused on crap like x factor.
I say the day that BPI dies can't come soon enough.
the report left out all the millions that the bpi made off crap shows like the xfactor
1.2 billion sounds kinda low thought they would have claimed 100 billion billion downloads by now.

only if you sell your soul and music to The Man.
if i had a band which i don't (the only instruments i'm good at are classical wind instruments, not much demand there:( i would start by touring, giving out singles of my successes, then contracting my own agent, and eventually when i make enough cash i would start mass producing Albums at 40cents a track and still make more money than any labels measly 5~9% per sale.
of course non-talented studio synth baby's would rather sign the get rich quick card, than devote there life to the art-form we call music.
Whatever money you think you are loseing from downloads, take it to 10% then take that down to 10% and thats more likely the real hard number. Which could easily be made up it all CEOs and VPs take a30% price cut from all what they get paid golden paracutes and other wise!
