Hi ppl, I recently purchased a sony drx/510ul dvd burner and am using smartripper to try and rip a dvd. It says in the program window that this process takes 22 hrs and I am wondering if this is a mistake or does it really take this long?

It shouldn't take that long. 15-25 minutes is the average rip time depending on the movie and computer specs.

If you could give us more info on your system specs an so forth we can try and figure out what's going on here :)

With DVD burners (which I suspect is what you've got), unless you're running a hacked firmware then rip speeds will be very slow so either get a DVDROM or use a hacked firmware :)

my bet is that you tried copy and paste ?
try dvddecrypter or SmartRipper, downloadable, free from the software section.

Very good point Praetor, though even an unpatched burner shouldn't take more than an hour or so.

Awaiting the system specs......
