700MB cd .... 5MB per song = 140 songs :)
Did he say how long the songs were (if it was AudioCD) or did he burn a DataCD? :)

Its possible that it could have been really short songs but more likely he burnt an MP3 CD :)

The average "song" in the MP3 format will have 4Mb -@128Kbps- most newer listening devices have now. the ability to read MP3's -- Hence it is quite possible to burn 150 MP3's on one data CD-R so it can be read on your Car Radio or DVD player.

The very latest car radio will read now WMA -- again giving you more stashing capacity.

You need to create Mp3 files off your CD files and then burn into a data CD. Then if you have a CD player that supports Mp3 (or if you buy one, they are not really expensive), you can have 150 songs into a CD.

Here are two guides about creating Mp3s:

using Freeware tool:
http://www.mp3-guides.com/guides.php?name=audiograbber
using a commercial tool:
http://www.mp3-guides.com/guides.php?name=musicmatch

I hope you know how to write a data CD!
