pls email me direct your help to redge@elvis.com
thanks so much in advance.
you need a nic card (network interface; ethernet) to ftp to the xbox. If you have one, change your computers tcp/ip settings (in control panel-network) to static ip (specify an ip address) and assign something like 192.168.100.10 to your computer. Subnetmask 255.255.255.0 (I'm pretty sure that's what evoX uses as the default (haha) defaultgateway).
Connect the xbox to the pc with a crossover cable. Not a patch or standard ethernet cable, a crossovercable.
Then boot you xbox and use a program like flashfxp (or some sort of ftp client) to ftp into your xbox. Username/pass = xbox/xbox. go to xbox-scene for more complete tutorials.
But, if you say you're getting an error and your xbox won't even boot... this doesn't do you a lick of good. What exactly did you change/do to your xbox to invoke this error?
I don't know if your problem is related to xblive, but go here for help with error 21: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/error21.php
alrighty. First you need to get a copy of evoX on disc. Go here for a complete tutorial on making that disc: http://www.x-scene.com/articles/evox-install.php Once that disc is made, boot your xbox with the disc in the dvd drive (just press the eject button, stick the disc in, close the tray, turn the xbox off and then back on. That's it). Hopefully the xbox will read the disc ok.
Once it boots you can follow the instructions in my first post to ftp into the xbox. If you have a backup of your c: partition on your pc(it's always best to do backup before you do ANYTHING else. when this problem is all fixed, back up your c: AND e: partitions) simply replace the contents of c: with the c: backup. I believe you could also burn slayers to disc (find tutorials on x-scene) and use it's msdash restore app. Or possibly running an x-live enabled game will restore it as well (but, I'm not sure on that since the dash won't boot in the first place. I'm not too familiar with live).
Thats the most help I can give you for now untill you give me the specifics. Tell me exactly what you did between the time that your xbox was working to the point where it didn't.
