Berenberg Bank analyst Adnaan Ahmad has written an open letter to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Nokia CEO Stephen Elop this week, telling the companies they must join forces in the phone market, or disappear.
Ahmad says that Elop should immediately make a deal to have exclusive access to Windows Phone 7, and commit to a date for a product shipment.

Nokia needs to make a decent android phone for once...and if they can't even do that, then they need to move to something easier...like making light switches or something.

Nokia dont make android phones at all. They have had great success with the symbian operating system for their phones and for now it is perfectly fine to use. As they say, "If it aint broken, don't Fix it"

It is broken though. Comparing symbian to ios or android is like compairing VHS to Bluray- It is old, clunky and dated and should be a distant memory by now. Smart phones are like PC's, its all about the user interface and the applications.

This is an ufair comparison. The symbian OS is fine and works perfectly well. Just because it isn't the newest product on the market doesn't mean it is crap. If executed properly the sybian OS is brilliant, for a start the N8 can do more things than any phone on the market today and it has the sybian OS. Ok using android would be better because of its open source nature, the large user base and number of apps, the symbian OS works well for what the phone is designed to do.
