I'm a pretty successful dance songwriter and producer based in New York City. You can check out my website and credits here: http://www.alexanderperls.com

I'm looking for an aspiring director to make a music video for me.

I've already had four music videos made for releases in Europe that have charted worldwide -- you can check out three of them here (quicktime 6.5 required):

http://www.perlstrax.com/music_videos.html

These videos were all commissioned by european record labels.

I'm posting here because I want to start to build my own team to make music videos -- this would give me a bit more control over the promotional process, and most important could help push a few of my songs over edge commercially from club hits to mainstream video channel hits.

Putting any sort of money into a music video would be too much of a risk for me -- and that's why in the past I have always let the labels handle it.

But I had an idea to post here in the thought there might be someone working on his/her reel anyway -- and the opportunity to make a video that would have exposure channels in Europe might be a good one.

Also, I recently discovered that it is useful to have a video even if it doesn't meet the highest productions values. This video, here, http://www.perlstrax.com/transfer_video/ (you will need to download it to your desktop and then open it with realplayer) has what can only be called low production values, and yet it was playlisted on some of the main German video cable stations. Did it get a full daytime rotation? No way. But it did get a few minor rotations which were quite useful in pushing the track.

I can also if necessary help with a bit of equipment on the shoot and during post -- I have a DV camera and still digital camera, and a final cut pro HD setup.

Of course you could keep the rights and if one of the record labels I work with wanted to use it, you would negotiate directly with them. (I'll help if you want).

Please email me a link to your reel at <email removed> if you're interested.
