I know the obvious benefit is the re-usability of RW, but are RW discs okay for long term back-ups of movies? I'm thinking of reducing the possibility of bad burns. Are +RWs (re)usable even if burns go bad?
Are they the same quality as +R?? I'm new at this.

If you use quality media to begin with, then yes.

As long as the errors are data errors on the disc, yes they can be reused.

Again, as long as you buy quality media, there will be no difference between the two.

Once you get your methods squared away it's cheaper in the long run to use +/- R especially if you just plan on just burning a movie and then storing it, but either way it'll work :)
