Sorry if this post has already been answered but i dont exactly have the time to go looking through 306 pages of posts. ive searched around the site but no answers. If this post has already please re-direct me :)

Now to the point,
I found a great backup tutorial on http://home.comcast.net/~appleguru/dvdcopy.html (hope its useful) but its a closed post now and i need help. If you can recommend a better tutorial ill gladly try it. Now, when i use mediapipe to create a pipeline and hit "launch CLI" the process has taken 7hours for 50%. note: i used the tip - "Actually, as a little trick, divide 550,000 by the number of minutes in your movie to get the bitrate you should use" and i got 550,000/148mins=3716. If anyone can help please reply.

also, when the cpu is maxxed shouldnt there be a loud humming comming from the machine or is this a pc thing?
