Greetings!

I had some bad luck with my CD-RW and well it is no longer operational. Anyways my problem is I have a .bin (and .cue) file on my hard disk that I need to use. Since I cannot obviously burn it anymore I was wondering if there was a way to somehow extract it.

Thanks!

If you want to extract files from a cd-image there are several solutions. (1) Download a free virtual drive called Daemon Tools from http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/daemon_tools.cfm and mount the image. You can then have access to the files as if it was on a CD. (2) Using a free program called CDMage (obtained from http://cdmage.orcon.net.nz/frames.html ), , first open the image using CDMage (or drag-n-drop). Note that you have to correctly select the input parameters in order to open it (trial and error will suffice). Once the image is opened, goto the file(s) you want to extract, right click and select 'Extract Files...' provide the destination you want to extract to and whatever settings you desire and click 'Extract' . You may have to check the "Keep Broken Files" checkbox. (3) Using either WinISO or UltraISO (since they use the same basic interface), first open (or drag-and-drop) a supported CD Image with WinISO, select the file(s) you wish to extract, right click, select "Extract" and specify a destination and extract away. You can obtain WinISO and UltraISO from http://www.winiso.com/ and http://www.ezbsystems.com/enindex.html respectively (4) Using ISOBuster, first open the image (or drag-n-drop). Then select the file(s), right-click and select either "Extract <filename>" or "Extract Objects". Specify the destination you want to extract to and click OK/Save. (You can get ISOBUster from http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/isobuster.cfm)
