Hope you can help. I'm trying to rip a DVD so I can watch it on my portable as an MPEG file or VCD, but Smartripper keeps crashing. This was originally happening on v2.36 with Win98SE, but it still happens with 2.41 on XP Pro since I upgraded. Does Smartripper have a problem with certain chipsets or DVD drives?

I really haven't heard many people complaining that SmartRipper crashes -- it works nicely for me with ME, 2k and XP. But if you have problems with it, use cladMdec as an alternative product, it doesn't provide all the same data in generated txt files as SmartRipper does, but does the ripping job as nicely as Smart does.
