Ok basically this is driving me INSANE!! I have a V9 PS2 with Swap Magic 3.2 and DVD 2.0 and a slide card (700MB imation CD-R disks). I am trying to get my backup of True Crime and Hitman Contracts to function.
I have downloaded and unzipped Swap Magic Fix v.7 ALL and v.7 Beta 5.2 and burnt an Image (using Nero) to a CD-R. I then take the thing do the proper method (load SM CD, use slide card, insert SMF, close tray with slide card, push x, and purple bar at the top and the thing freezes.
Then again if I try to use Megaman X7 and Onimusha 3 they work flawlessly without Swap Magic Fix. Just the above two backups are giving me hell!!
Being the guy I am I went ahead and tried everything I could think of to fix this. Different programs (Nero, Alcohol 120%, CDRWIN, etc.), I have read faq's about the thing and I am doing everything perfect with zero success. I honestly must have something like 17 useless CD-R disks sitting in a pile next to my PS2. One time Swap Magic Fix loaded up and worked the way it was supposed to my excitement, but afterward I reset it to retest it and the same exact disk will no longer work. ARGGGHHHH!!!!
So I need some of you to use your brilliant minds to help a guy out here. Do you have any suggestions, similiar problems, the way to fix it, just about anything could be helpful here since I may not be thinking of something? Thanks a lot in advance!!

it seem you have a problem getting your ps2 to read the cdr's with cdloader on them you could try using dvd loader instead,its a modified version of cd loader that you burn to a dvdr disc and is avalible to download from http://www.ps2ownz.com its in the swapmagic chat forum but you will have to sign up there to access the area

Yep, get dvd loader. I couldn't get cd loader to work with swap magic 3.2 either (didn't try very hard though).
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero |

Well I also have a back up of Megaman X-7/RPG Maker 2, they are CD-R games and runs flawlessly so go figure?
I tried to check out PS2 OWNZ but it says the administrator has shut down registration. :( Not to mention I do not have a DVD burner, damn it..

First you need 3 programmes- 1)winrar 2)dvd decrypter
3)dvd loader v7 all. the first 2 u can download from the internet and the third from ps2ownz. u also need a dvd burner, without a burner u r going nowhere. ps2 ver9 and above u must use dvd loader. Try ps2ownz again and re-register u never no?

Ok after reading a bit more on the other threads I came across another way to try this by using the SM CD and then switching a bunch of stuff. Below is basically what the instructions say and what I did. Maybe something in this I am doing wrong..?
Ok after reading the suggestions in this thread I have come to no success. PS2 V.9, Swap Magic 3.2, slide card
This is what I did..
1. Insert SMCD
2. Eject SMCD which it then asks me to refresh TOC.
3. I insert a game (not sure which one so I have tried Xenosaga, Tenchu Wrath of Heaven, Dark Cloud 2, and Wild Arms 3) and close cd drive.
4a. I use slide card to swap out with True Crime or Hitman Contracts backup press Square and it gives me the big ol' failure "Please insert a PS or PS2 disk".
4b. Then I tried to insert SM DVD and press Square. It then goes back to the "Please insert a PS..." screen.
4c. Then I insert a SM DVD and press X, screen flashes red and boots to the SM DVD screen. Then I use slide card, swap out SMDVD with True Crime/Hitman Contracts back and I get the blue bar at top. Next it goes to load up gives me an opening movie (ie. Activision logo) and then freezes.
4d. Then I insert a SM DVD and press Square, screen flashes red and boots to the SM DVD screen. Then I use slide card, swap out SMDVD with True Crime/Hitman Contracts back and I get the blue bar at top. Next it goes to load up gives me an opening movie (ie. Activision logo) and then freezes.
5. I take a deep breath, give a big sigh, and back to the forums here.
Suggestions on this one guys?

you need to use either cd or dvd loader to boot this game backup with swapmagic
to use dvd loader
1. boot swapmagic dvd and swap for dvd loader by slide/flip press x
2.when dvd loader boots press x scroll up/down to 5v3 nopn option press x
3.press eject and swap dvdloader for swapmagic dvd press eject to send back in
4.wait for it to say ps2 dvd in lower left of tv press x
5.wait for it to say swap by ea method at this prompt swap for backup by slide card/flip press x your game should now boot

That sounds wonderful and I really appreciate your help with that but the problem still remains that I cannot find a single place to download DVD Loader. The website the software is on is not accepting registation thus screwing me, if you can suggest another place to download it I am in business.
