As for the large TOC refresh the best way I get that to work is using the DVD loader and using the swap magic disc as the refresh....
1. Just boot up with swap magic...
2. Swap for dvd loader......
3. then eject the loader and replace with swap magic..(you can just press eject or the triangle button for this step)
4. When you see Playstaion 2 in the bottom left corner press X
5. After a few seconds you should see a new screen asking you to put in a DVDr using the EA swap method. Go ahead and swap for your back up of whatever you want to play....
6. Press X and...Holy Crap in a sack....it works.....cool...Thankx Rayza......ur the bestest.......

I tried this method with total overdose, but i still can't get it to play... Or is this something else you are talking bout ,cuz the iso is 4,37 gb big,so it won't load with swap magic.Help me out...

I am having a problem backing up Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance for the ps2. I have followed the instruction at the beginning of this thread but after the ps2 logo the screen turns black and the game doesn't load. I have searched for patches and programs like the one needed for God of War, but could find any. Has any one successfully made a backup of this game? Any tips or suggestions wopuld be greatly appreaciated. btw, I got three .00X files and combined them to make an ISO and burn using DVD Decrypter.

Ok, i got a problem here and i've tried nearly everything..

Problem 1.

I have a copied version of Final Fantasy IX (NTSC) for PSX, i try to load swap magic 3.6 cd version but it won't load, i get the error (NEED A BIGGER T.O.C) or something like that. i've heard that it is possible to fit all 4cds onto a DVD as a SINGLE IMAGE, but beats me if i know how to do it.. are there any tutorials on how to do this??

Problem 2.

I have a SNES EMULATOR with 500+ games for my PS2 but i can't even get that to work either, says it's not a valid ps2 cd or something similar. anyone know why?

any help would be appreciated, thanx.

Ifinally got all the programs i need, but i cant seem to follow 1 step explained by winner11. on the first page # 3 says CONVERT THE EXTRACTED FILES INTO 2 BIN FILES. how on earth does a newbie like me do that. Well hope to hear from you on that one, seems like alot of the people you help have had success. Thanks alot

i can get to the end of this tuto but when i'm merging them together it first goes allright but when it's buzy with the last file ( i've got five. pon.000 --> pon.004) it says not enoug free space on C:\
however i have 98,5 GB free space and it stops at 3.99GB

i've also tried this with a merging program and i get the exact same error.

are you on FAT32???

this wont allow you to create an image (single image) over 4 gb

in which case you need to convert the system to NTFS

check the properties on the local C hardrive

there are loads of threads

just make sure you read them fully first, and understand what you are doing
and back up any info you may need first

also confirm that you are actually running on fat32 before you do anything

can someone please tell me where I could find a copy of cddvdgen.exe 1.50 which CAN be installed on WinXP. A link that actually works would be a welcome change.

I do everything right up to the point where i go to write the ISO file (using DVD Decrypter) and at 22% of writing it comes up with a messge saying "Failed to read file: STAR.ISO. Reason: Data error(Cyclic redundancy check).

What is Wrong?

Hi guys, im a noob at rebuilding but have done a good job at backing up many games. But the nightmare i've encountered is METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SUBSTANCE PS2. I've tried nearly EVERYTHING! Nero Burning Rom method Gnie's Expert v1.03 rebuilding method and I gave up on the 2 disc guide method with hexing and CD/DVD Generator. After i finished Hexing i used CD/DVD Generator 1.5 to build. When i click record the DAMN program says "THE RECORDING UNIT IS NOT CONNECTED"
WTF!!!???? I've checked other threads and everyone who's got to back this game up refuses to help solve this problem for people like me tryin to burn MGS2S PLEASE HHHHHHEEEEEELLLLPPPP!!!!!

I have a huge problem trying to rip MGS2:Substance PS2 and use it with SWAP MAGIC 3.6. I've followed the old guide step by step and the hexing guide u provided. Many thanks to that, But when i use CD/DVD GENERATOR to make the .IML file it says "TOO SHORT LOCATION LENGTH" So then i replaced the three 1byte dummy files i recreated to the original DEMO2, STAGE2, & VOX2.DAT files, created the .IML file, used .IML2ISO then burned it with DVD Decrypter and it was no good. the game stood on the black screen after LOAD PROGRAM. PLZ HHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLPPP!
much appreciated.

d) SET THE WIDTH OF THAT WINDOW SO THAT IT IS ONLY 1 FILE WIDE. THIS WILL PLACE THE FILES INTO THE SAME ORDER AS THEY WERE ON THE GAME DISK BUT YOU SHOULD CHECK THEM FOR CORRECT ORDER JUST IN CASE.
e) CLICK ON EDIT > SELECT ALL.
f) DRAG ALL THE FILES INTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF CDVDGEN.
g) LOOK FOR A SLUS OR SLES FILE AND WRITE DOWN THE FULL NAME AND THEN CLICK ON THE ?VOLUME? TAB IN CDVDGEN.

**I can't put them in order, I tried to drag them in odrer but it automatically rearrange into alphabetal order.

**SET THE WIDTH OF THAT WINDOW SO THAT IT IS ONLY 1 FILE WIDE. <----??? I don't understand that, how do I set the window
---------------------------------------------------------------------
OK I got them in order by dragging the files 1 by 1 is that alright??

I can't paste COMDLG32.DLL into system32, the file is being used by some program, I tried to turn off in taskbar but it didn't help. What do you think should I do to paste this?

So I have a problem with CDDVDGEN.

Let me explain it, I started using CDDVGEN when God of War was released. I used it many times with success. Never failed me once. Then I stopped playing ps2 a while. When I started playing it again, I needed to use CDDVDGEN to burn a game. But it does not work anymore. The thing is I have a new computer. And first time using CDDVDGEN on it; resulted with failure.

The problem I'm having is:
After I push the rec button. You are suppose to get 2 errors. I only get one error than nothing happens... I tried versions 1.20 , 1.50 , 2.0 None worked. I tried pushin rec many times still the same result.

Please, someone help me with this problem. I don't want to new way of rebuilding a dvd. I only need to know the fix for my problem. Thanks already :)

You can use Zoneloader, so you don't need to rebuild any games

you are missing a .dll file that you need to install into you system32 folder and system folder in Windows.
You can find this file at http://www.neromediahome.com/us/WNASPI32.DLL.html

edit.that link isnt working, try this one instead

http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/WNASPI32.DLL.html

if it dont work, remember to undo any changes,as i aint responsible for any feck ups.

hursty
