starview box channels disappearing

I was away down the country over christmas, and then with the kids and hubby off didn't get much of a chance to use computer.
Back to normal soon though! ;)
So any idea what's wrong with that frequency then?

i treid every thing to fix my box but nothing happen still not updating problem i tried on every channal to update .... but nothing works

I have the box super (starview 3). I've installed it over and over (deleting factory settings each time) but only rte 1 and setanta sports are decoding.
I've gone to menu and pressed 1 5 7 0 on the remote, but no magic menu appears - so i havent seen the emu setting.
I cant find a usb port either.
Any help? I'm in Dublin, on NTL

Ok, you are sure you have all the correct firmware installed, and it is finding the channels for you, you just can't get into the secret menu?
Try turning the box off at the back for a minute. Switch it back on, go to s*y 2, press menu once, type in 1570 and the menu should appear. If it does turn emu on and exit back to s*y 2 and leave it to update.

hi eva,
i dont know what firmware means! I did download the starview 3 .exe file from the toolbar, but cant work out how to update the box. is that what is meant by flashing it??
the cable that came with the box isnt compatible wmy laptop as the laptop only has a receiver cable port ( i.e. the one with theholes in it). Both ends of the cable are also this type.
I loaded the .exe to my usb key, but then couldnt find a usb port on the starview 3.
It is genuine based on having 25 * 7 ports.

You will not be able to get into the secret menu until you flash your box with the correct firmware, the boxes are supplied FTA only. So to see what cables you need just click on the link marked Eurovox at the bottom of my post and you will see how and what you need to flash your box (different box but same connectivity). Then when you have the neccessary stuff to do the job, then you will find a tutorial on how to flash your box if you click on the link marked Starview in the 2nd line at the bottom of my post.

Hi All, I've a starview clone which sat down and failed to decode around about 15th December 2008.
With the help of the druids on this forum I found a firmware update called CryptStar-v15-Core257.bin and while it took the guts of an entire day to break the codes once up it has stayed going again.
All of the premium channels have come back but some didn't and the list seems to be growing. S*y1 being one for example.
Has anyone advice on this? Perhaps it's the beginning of the end or perhaps I need to do something?

Do a manual scan on 347.500 & this should get s*y 1 etc.

Hi Noel, that worked a treat - thanks very much for your help.
Is there any way to automatically get all the missing stationss back or must I do manual scans in that way for all missing? Possible perhaps to delete the bad ones and do an auto scan or perhaps factory restore and installation?

hi i have a star view 3 box and the channels went i did a factory restore and a automatic scan, it came back 0 channels found can anyone help???

Back again! Dunlin area with NT Hell.
My system is
The Box
API Ver 450e_E
Boot Ver 7.0
5 july 2007
It went down a week before xmas and I installed all the latest firmware (4.55 and v.4.03 etc)following advice I got here and everything seemed fine. Between yesterday and today I have lost all the traditional freeview channels but still have most of the pay channels, which is a bit odd. It's becoming a bit of a nuisance to be honest! Manual searches find zilch. There appears to be no signal on any of them.
Any help would be appreciated, again.

so just do the installation and then enter the keys once youve scanned in all the channels
