The Welcome Back program offers users two free games (from a list), Ooblag?s Alien Casino (PSN game), free 30 day subscription to PSN+ and virtual items for PS Home.

i don't think that giving people games that total retail of 40 bucks, won't fix the issue that they might of have lost a bunch of money due to the hacking.

And when I keep trying to get em it keeps giving an error. Even when I load the PS Store successfully; so likely too many people trying to grab it at once and its over hogging the bandwidth Sony can dish out. Something tells me they going to need to extend it passed the 30day deadline.

That's what free fraud protection from your bank is for, and don't forget the free identity protection plan Sony gave us too. I was a victim of the PSN hack, and my CC info, etc was stolen because of it. My bank gladly fixed all of it with no headache to me. Yes, this whole thing sucks, and yes, I have lost tons of respect and trust in Sony as a whole, but at least they are doing some kind of customer recovery. Is it too late for Sony to recover? Probably. Did Sony lose tons of customers and sales? Definitely. Hell, even I bought an Xbox360 after all this happened, and I have been a Playstation guy since PSone came out. It will be interesting to see if Sony will ever create a new console now after all this mess and money loss. My guess is no.

Does "purchasing" the tokens mean giving a new credit card number? As opposed to the one you had to cancel when Sony was initially hacked.

I got Dead Nation & inFAMOUS for PS3 plus LBP & MNR for PSP from my US account while also getting Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty, LBP & Burnout Paradise for PS3 from my EU account...and I'm yet to tap others if needed, though I probably won't unless they have different items for when the HK & JP PSN comes back up.

Make sure you:
1) accept the free game from sony first *Like adding it to your wallet "should you have done that"
2) as long as the red symbol appears to show that you have purchased your free download, then if you can't dl it on the welcome back screen I have discovered that you can go into the regular PS3 downloads section and select your game through there instead of the welcome back page. I had your issue of downloading as well with Dead Nation, and that method does work so long as it shows up you purchased your desired game.
Hope this helps.

Or do what I did when I thought I lost 1 of my downloads due to the increased traffic on the servers ~
Quote: Due to high traffic on PlayStation Store, you may encounter error messages or issues. We advise you to check back a little later and try again.
Note: In order to download two games at no cost, you must redeem them from the ?Welcome Back? category. The individual titles are still available for purchase outside of the ?Welcome Back Program?
If at any point you can?t find the ?Welcome Back Free Game 1 or 2? products, the list of available titles or a game you?ve selected go to your XMB and ~
Select ~ PlayStation Network
Select ~ Account Management
Select ~ Transaction Management
Select ~ Services List
Select ~ SCEA Promotions to complete the process and/or find the titles you would like to choose
