As of today, Redbox has gone nationwide with video games for their rental kiosks, following a year-long testing period. Games for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii will be available for $2 per night. What happens if you go to Walmart and get one of their prepaid Visa cards(I know Redbox accepts those or atleast use to) and never return it?

Brand new game for 5 bucks?! (Walmart Prepaid costs $3)

Or do you have to go to Redbox online to reserve it and put in all your personal info before you can get it? Still seems like you could just buy a Walmart card and use fake name/address...

Just checked it out, as far as online reservations go you need to put a valid credit card on file first. but i wonder what would happen if a pre-paid card is used in a "walk-up" scenario?

Redbox does NOT accept prepaid cards.

Redbox does NOT accept prepaid cards.
They probably changed it because of the game rentals. Because one of my friends use to rent movies from Redbox all the time using a Walmart prepaid Visa. (Haven't talked to him in a while, so don't know if he's tried recently) The Unemployment Debit Card use to work also.

$2 a night is a little pricey. At least for the games i play. I could see this being useful if you're just trying before you buy.

this looks good also if your just borrowing the game for a party or something. Got a group of friends coming over? Go redbox a fun multiplayer game for $2, sounds good to me

Completely agree, this system will suck for a game like LA Noire (unless you have unlimited time to play) but will be great for one-time events with friends/family or to demo before a purchase.

This is actually great for those that only buy originals. So many over hyped clunkers as of late that it's better to spend 2$ renting then to throw away $59.99 on a game like brink!!!!
