Surely those 160 hours of community service for ONE GUY are going to scare pirates that are making thousands of dollars per month illegally uploading films right?

Legendary guy:
Punishment in the US: Colossal fines that will leave you homeless.
Punishment in Scotland: 160 hours of shoveling shit off a park bench.
That contrast is awesome. If I recorded movies in the cinema I would definitely sell them and make money out of it.

WTF! I thought recording cinema was passe now? Neither article states when this idiot committed the crime, so it could have been 10 years ago, but still... Really? Who's "that" desperate to see a movie that they're willing to see a crap video-ed cinema cut?
Then let's just get started on the imbalance of justice served for 'theft of services', 'copyright infringements' & whatever else laws this idiot broke... public service!?! Had that been here in the US he would be kept alive by artificial means for 3 life times in an attempt to continue to earn restitution money for what the studios would be raping him for. Not that he didn't earn it, but you can't tell me you know how corporations can get...

Yeah, just a little... Corporate America seems to have bought our liberties. Democracy seems to have had a price tag on it somewhere down the line.

i think youll find the 'uploading for profit' will be a standard label attached to anyone who is caught uploading illegal or pirated media, and as for punishments in scotland being soft , a guy from dundee , scotland stupidly sold pirated dvds to an undercover customs agent , he was taken to court and after being found guilty and having had no previous criminal record of any kind was given a 5 year jail sentence , i think thats harsh even if the guy lived in china!

We're not saying justice isn't misgoverned, just that your Dundee individual been a US citizen doing the same over here he would have been executed.

AHHHHHHH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for my laugh of the day.
Gold!
Someone told me once that theres a right and wrong, and that punishment would come to those
who dare to cross the line.
But it must not be true for jerk-offs like you.
Maybe it takes longer to catch a total asshole.
