The game loads fine up to the point when it loads the single player through the title lettering, it freezes at the letter 'O' in PANDORA. I figured it is because of the size of the ISO that I burned, it is about 1.7gb. For a game like this I thought the size would be at least 3gb! It was burned on ritek media at 1x so I know its not the DVD disc itself, but perhaps dvd decryptor is not extracting the whole game for backup? Any suggestions would rock. Thanks!

Yeah read and write mode with dvd decryptor. I just finished another copy using Alcohol with the same results except now the whole 'O' get filled and then freezes.
Either way, I posted something similar on the forums in ps2ownz.com and several people are also getting the same thing. Now I'm thinking there needs to be an updated cdloader/dvdloader????

I am going to back this game up right now before gremlin's smash it, and see what your talking about. I'll test with decrypter and see if it freez's (using Ritek branded and version 3.2.0.0 Decrypter)

I backed up "Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow" and it only froze once, On the UBISOFT logo- on the first time playing. I just reset the ps2 and let it load then did that like 5 more times to see if it would freeze, not once after that did it freeze.
Are you guy's using modd's or swap's, I'm using a magicV chip v9

I'm using a fliptop with SMDVD and dvdloader. Maybe its your chip that lets you play it? Someone else on ps2ownz also got it working with their fliptop v9 PS2 (same as mine) so I dont know what the hell is going on.

I have been very successful with all other PS2 backups. However, for some reason no luck with this one. My backup freezes on the O as well. I checked with swapmagicfix.com and they say use loader+5v3nopn. No luck. I am using a fliptop with swapmagic.
Someone please help

I Have used DVD Decrypter to rip and Nero to backup, i got the same problem but then used the swapmagic fix with "no pn" and it works fine every time. although if you go to the online section and then try to go back to the main menu the game freezes. but other than that it works fine, by the way have you patched the disc id. i have, but other than the dnas check i dont know if it makes a difference to your freeze problem. I use Swap magic and a slide card.

Thanks Spandex, gonna try burning with Nero and seeing what happens. Btw, has anyone tried the beta52 dvdloader with any games (especially with SC:PT)?

I went to swapfix and burned the .cue file into a cd-r and tried steel the game won't work. It doesn't tell me to burn into a DVD or CD-R and it's confusing.

hi having problems with backing up splinter cell : pandora tomorrow...
had the same problems with the first game too..
i use swap magic and for other games such as mafia, hitman contracts have used cdloader v.7 to boot..
have checked on swapmagicfic.com and it says to use these on both splinter cell games yet when i load the games and select one-player mode it just gives me a yellow screen and nothing else..
was wondering how u chaps have got yours working..
i use alcohol 120% for copying and have never had a problem with any other backups (except sonic heroes which involved a dummy.bin file!)
cheers in advance..

Wallinuk, use the 5v3 NO PN option with dvdloader/cdloader and it should get you past the yellow screen. The problem, at least for most of us, is getting past that part and actually loading the game. Let us know if you have any success.

euro2004, the fix from swapmagicfix.com is to be burned onto a CDR. You need to load this before swaping to your backup. If you have problems with getting it to work (I do since my PS2 is a v9) then use dvdloader, it loads a lot faster and it works just as good.

When you load cdloader/dvdloader press X to enter the submenu. There you should get various options to boot the loader with a patch for the game. Here is where you choose '5v3 NO PN'. Once that loads you eject to refresh the TOC and swap for the backup to load the game.

I heard from ps2ownz that the newer versions of ps2 can't play the backup of splintercell using the fliptop method.
Well, that's what I heard anyway.

I backed up pandora tomorrow and it plays no prob's and I don't need to use cd/dvdloader. this is on a v4 ps2 with flip top.
to those who have prob's with cd/dvdloader try using olsfan's sm3dvd, you can get it from ps2ownz.
