Hi,

Just got overnet and broadband, just wondered how to get the iso's I download on to disk? (So I can play or use the program)

For PC Games and programs in particular, if possible....
When I download them, it just does nothing when I press 'run'

Do I need a special program?

I have a CD/RW but not a dvd burner, is this the problem?

PLEASE HELP! I'll make it worth your while!!!!! (I'm so sexist!!!)

Keri

no,

I just used overnet and typed in what game I wanted (The ones I already own, I'm aware of piracy) so I could back up my disc's.

Does that help?

This one is getting off to a very bad start! We need to read the forum rules especially #5 :)

Also, no posting e-mail addies. Refer to rule # 10.

Questions are most welcome here but we need to abide by the forum rules, they're there for a reason :)

Yes indeed the big Rule 5. Whether you own the originals or not, it would be supportive of piracy for use to help regarding the obtaining and useage of such downloads. Waylow makes a good point however -- making your own image rips. There are two benifits to this:
1. You learn to do it yourself. Learning rules.
2. The copy you downloaded off ONet is not a perfect image simply because it was not made as a perfect image. Why? Because most people dont know what to do with a perfect image or how to burn it properly and such.

To make a 1:1 backup of copy protected games (1) determine the type of protection present using a program called A-Ray Scanner (which can be obtained from http://www.aray-software.com/ ). (2) If the game is protected via SafeDisc2/3 then duplication is highly hardware dependent and to be able to properly make a backup, your burner needs to be classified as "2-sheep" (for information on this sheep rating and to see if your burner qualifies as 2-sheep, visit http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/45121 ). If your burner is a 2-sheep burner then head on over to http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/23699 for a step-by-step on backing up your game. If however your drive is a 1-sheeper, visit http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/36444 for a workaround technique. (3) If your game is protected with SecurROM then, even though it is not nearly as hardware dependent as a SD2/3 backup, having a 2-sheep burner is very useful. For step-by-step guides on backing up your SecureROM protected game, visit (using Alcohol120) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43802 (using CloneCD) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/26771
