I have the MadDog 8x DVD R and RW +- Burner, and I am wondering if you can use "Generic" DVDs to burn with, or will the MadDog not be compatible for Burning or Playback in most DVD players?

This is the link for the DVD's:

Thanks!

Your DVD burner probably wont give you as much problems as that cheap media you're looking at.
BEWARE of CHEAP media, there is a difference between cheap and inexpensive.

I have a burner on the way and I am looking for reliable media. Has anyone tried GreatAZO? Since I am starting out my main concern is reliability, but hey I am cheap too. They list for $23 for 50 and seem to go on sale often enough.

Its hard to say...but your better off going with generic media that users like. (skip ebay)

I love Ritek, Princo & Sonic @ $0.30... but it also depends if your burner will support (compatible)too! Having a Generic Burner, you just have to buy a small DVD-R pack to test. If your Burner isn;t on the DVD-R Compatibility Chart or talked about in the forums.

I just found a sale in the sunday flyer for Fuji 50pack for $39.99 DVD -R.

Fuji seems to be a good brand from what I read.

Thanks for the advice. I will steer clear of ebay.

Cheap media has its downside and that being player compatibility.
May play in the player that you have now but may not play in the next player, should your current player die.
In my opinion, thats the biggest issue that I dont enjoy having to deal with.
You all should bookmark the links that I prvided in my earlier post. Thats valuable information.
Heres one more that'll assist the newbies.
