Japanese buyers will see the console for Christmas, but everyone else has to wait.
Despite the general expectation that Sony would be rolling out the PlayStation Vita handheld before the holiday season, the company has said today that it will not hit Europe or the U.S. until 2012.
Because of the delay, many analysts now expect Sony to have weakened sales of the console, and overall revenue decline.

By release time you will probably be able to get a PS3 for the same price or a 360 for $50 less...and with the memory cut in half, it is really held back. Of course, being made by Sony holds it back more than anything...the fact that it is made by Sony effectively makes the 3G version pointless because they will probably block PSN access if you want to keep some "useless" feature like the X button or something.
Nobody saying you can't buy a PS3 or Xbox, people are so annoying posting meaningless comments. Yes the price is more or less like a full console price, but so what? You can't carry the PS3 or Xbox around can you? For the spec, $250 is very good. It's impressive enough that even the 3DS is ashamed of the $250 price.
This sucks, I was hoping to get two Uncharted actions before Christmas, Drake's Deception and Golden Abyss. Well, I guess I'll have to settle the Vita version later then.
