Last week, HP decided to get out of the webOS hardware business, effectively shutting the door on its Palm purchase from last year.
The company put the TouchPad tablet on firesale for $99 and has sold an estimated 500,000 in the past three days alone.
HP has said today that they will not bring the Pre 3 smartphone to the U.S. but will firesale it in Europe for 75 euro, unlocked.

I ordered the Touchpad off of the HP website, but they appear to sold out now. That was only after I had tried every other website known to man and had spent about 5 hours the night before, driving around from store to store as they opened, only to be refused at store after store. It seems HP directed its retailers to "Return to Vendor" all of their stock. The positive side to this is that eventually HP will have more stock to sell. If people are interested, I suggest they check the HP site from time to time. Another option, if you call the Small Business Sales department, they will take your name and number and call you when they have stock. At least that is what they told my aunt.
