Are you using the orange Bulkpaq discs? Those can be Infosmart- or Princo-manufactured discs. Some of the worst available (inconsistent quality, uneven dye, etc. etc.).

You'll be better off with RitekG04 discs (Ritek/RiData 4x DVD-R) although even those can't be considered excellent media. Great for the price though although quality can be a bit inconsistent across batches/spindles. Still a better option than relying on Bulkpaq, unless you buy the white inkjet-printable discs which are made by Prodisc.

Oh no! I am using the orange ones, I had the green ones before and they worked like a dream but now I am experiencing some serious slowdown in games with the orange ones, anyways I don't own the discs they are my friends but he will be pissed cause he bought his orange discs because my green bulkpaq worked perfectly.

Thanks for the advice

Yup, the green ones (2x), like the 4x Bulkpaq printables, are made by Prodisc. Definitely better than Princo or Infosmart discs. :)
