Hi

I'm new to this Copy DVD, I used Alcohol 120% befor I got a quick stop with Protection, after reading here, let me just "collect" a few toughts/questions:

1: You use DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter to rip the protected DVD?

2: Are there any program to make the movie files small enogh to fit on a 4,3 gig DVD? Like a "Shrink" program?

3: Are all DVD like 7 gig after u rip those without Protection?

4: I end my adventure by burning the movie with NERO.


If Your got some other 1,2,3... plz let me know what you do, and what program you use.

Hi, I'll take these in order.

1) Yes.

2) DVD Shrink.

3) Not all movies are that big but almost every new release nowadays is.

4) Very good choice.


Take a look at our Guides section and read up on DVD Shrink. It's a very good program and will interface with Nero to burn. If you happen to have Nero 6 Ultra it comes with Recode which is almost identical to Shrink but needs a DVD43 in order to rip the disc.

Well, to start fresh with new software here's what I suggest. You need two things (besides a DVD burner). Try the Intervideo DVDCopy Platinum (you can type this in a search engine and get the main page to get the demo which last about 15 days). You also need a region & css free program which gets rid of the css (type in dvd region+css free - you are looking for version 5.02 - this is also a demo version that last 30 days) The region free loads up automatically when you open Intervideo. Now you can backup your dvds. If these work for you, you can buy the license code to make it work beyond the demo time period. I hope it helps and works for you.
