I view this as POSITIVE material. If M$ doesn't have their product play "protected" aka DRM material its probably for a good reason. I believe that they have taken into consideration all the bad feedback DRM has gotten from fans and artists alike. Who knows exactly why they did this but it doesn't effect me. I personally just have music I bought and made backups for on my iPod (with small amounts, such as TV shows pirated.) I will look into getting a Zune if the battery life and a couple of other things are on-par with the iPod.

Don't get me wrong. It doesn't affect me either, but it gets my nerve M$ double standard?? What about average Joe with their bought DRM garbage???
The player should do just that. Play all available formats.
It's like these guys have found a new cash cow. Imagine every new device won't play certain items...

Attack code targets new IE hole
Computer code that could be used to hijack Windows PCs via a yet-to-be-patched Internet Explorer flaw has been posted on the Net, experts have warned.
The code was published on public Web sites, where it is accessible to miscreants who might use it to craft attacks on vulnerable Windows computers. Microsoft is investigating the issue, the company representative said in a statement Thursday.
"Microsoft's initial investigation reveals that this exploit code could allow an attacker to execute memory corruption," the representative said. As a workaround to protect against potential attacks, Microsoft suggests Windows users disable ActiveX and active scripting controls.

Oh shait! I didn't realize it could also be on legit porno sites, too. I'll have to dl videos from my psp and play them on my computer. You guys on AD would never abuse my computer with SH&^ like that, would you? I've got to give my computer a deep scan with adaware.

antomic, a friend of mine found a virus on norton site & i lost 4 hrs of work on a customer's computer when doing updates from microsoft as microsoft site was infected by a virus which got onto customer's computer. couldn't even install an av program till i fdisk & formated the hd. so no site is safe.
