I have bought the first 3 sesons of Star Trek the Next generation and I want to make copys of them in case they get lost. so I wanted to know which program is best to avoid the codes on the dvds.
I have been thinking on using Record now Max??

Do not know that program but I know DVD X Copy will backup superbly. It even lets you keep your chapters etc. Try a Google search and see what you think.

DeLuxDK,

I've never used Record Now Max, but here's a guide: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/record_now.htm

You could also try using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter (both are free).

Xcopy can do a great job if you dont mind configuring your pc to work with that finicky 321 software.

DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are free and work great.

I've used Orlogix RecordNow DX a fair bit and like it a lot. It's very stable and easy to use in my experience. If you configure it according to the excellent link flip218 posted it should serve you well.

Well, to start fresh with new software here's what I suggest. You need two things (besides a DVD burner). Try the Intervideo DVDCopy Platinum (you can type this in a search engine and get the main page to get the demo which last about 15 days). You also need a region & css free program which gets rid of the css (type in dvd region+css free - you are looking for version 5.02 - this is also a demo version that last 30 days) The region free loads up automatically when you open Intervideo. Now you can backup your dvds. If these work for you, you can buy the license code to make it work beyond the demo time period. I hope it helps and works for you.
