Curious if anyone here knows of a good program to 'chop' audio files ~

For example -

I have a Live Song and want to take off the
first 20 seconds of it (hand clapping and talking) -

Does anyone here know a good way to go about this ?

Thanks in Advance guys *

If you have Nero Burning Rom then use Nero Wave Editor. Open your file in it and select the area you dont want then press delete!

Now simply click file - save!

I dont know of any progs that were built to just chop pieces off!!

Thanks to Everyone for the info -

If anyone else is interested in this topic, Here is a list of
suggestions I gathered from different forums -

-----------

- i've always been a fan of cooledit (syntrillim.com i think) but any decent sound editor will do.

try www.downloads.com w/ sound edit free (or any options u see fit) ... also google on same.

- cool edit is the way to go. once u load up the wave u can select the part to be chopped off.

- I use MixVibes Pro 3.01 to screw and chop music(using loops and modifying the pitch)

- i have a great one that was suggested on cfh a little while back

MP3DirectCut 1.19

- I use MP3Trim (logiccell.com).

- Freeware Open Source audio editor Audacity available at
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

There is software called Total Recorder from http://www.highcriteria.com that is good for that and for recording streaming audio. It costs $11.99, but I've gotten more than my money's worth for it. It will only produce .wav and .mp3 files, but you can convert either of those back to .wma with freeware.

- GOLDWAVE

- Cool Edit 2000

Thanks Again to all who posted suggestions *
