I have a Toshiba DVD-Rom SD-R6012 (Nero told me so) in my Sony PCG-GRZ615M Laptop. I tried to burn a LINUX 9.1 ISO-File with 715 MB, using Nero 6, ver. 60015. I switched to OVERBURN in Expert Mode and used a normal 700 MB CD-R first. Nero reported, that the inserted media's capacity was too low. So I used a Philips CD-R90, but I got the same result.
The Info in Nero says, that my Toshiba drive is able to overburn. What am I doing wrong?

The overburn option may be used to burn CDs with a larger capacity than the CD-R/CD-RW would normally permit you to write.

The maximum overburn CD capacity cannot be determined automatically! You can try adding a few minutes to the capacity that is mentioned on your blank disc.

Warning: Since normal CD-Rs are not designed for this amount of data, there may be errors at the end of the CD. You might also damage your CD recorder. Use this option at your own risk!

Step by Step~~

#1 -Verify the CD Recorder supports Overburn.

Click Recorder > Choose Recorder...
then Click on your CD Recording Device from the list.

Verify Overburn is Supported.
(Only continue if Supported was displayed in the above step.)

#2 -Click File > Preferences...

#3 -Select the Expert Features tab.

a) Put a Check in the Enable overburn 'disc-at-once' burning check box.

b) Enter a desired Maximum CD length.

c) Click the OK button.

You all set to burn.

Many thanks for the reply. Meanwhile, I found Alcohol 120% on your site: except for the name this program is great! It did the job on a normal 700 MB CD-R without asking any questions - it just burned the iso file. I already installed Linux 9.1 from this CD-R. By the way: Alcohol showed exactly 700,1 MB for the iso-file, whereas Windos Explorer and Nero said 715 MB. So in fact: there was no overburning necessary at all! Strange thing: Nero worked fine until this problem.
