i am about to buy a DSM 3 Version 2 modchip for my version2 ps2 i was looking at this site and it said that with the dsm3 u can play all media such as dvd+rw dvd-rw is this true with my version 2 ps2

NO its not. Your particular version cannot play DVD-rw Or +rw. Only V5 and up can read RW for sure and only some V4's can. Anything below that is a big no.
