Nero VCD Slide Show - Retreiving files

I have a number of slide shows generated from .jpg files using Nero. I have since lost these files but have the VCD's where it seems each slide is saved as a .dat file. I cannot fin any appication that will read these .dat files and resave them a .jpg

Is there a way of recovering the slides back to jpg?
