I would think Apple's own tablet patent will end up being a FRAND patent as well.

Or scraped, once it's scraped once it won't last in other places for long.

At one point or another, once you allow 'x' number of companies the use of your technology, or the design of your device follows into or flows into looking like everyone elses, you're going to fall into some form of patent/copyright/trademark by proxy. So to what degree to you 'have' to play this "pay me or else"?

Kind of like the pyramids of the Mayans and the Egyptians. Granted, there's a time difference (apprx. 50/150 years), but the similarities are a bit shocking (& none of that alien crap here either). I'm arguing about the race for filing the patents & then the pissing contest for control.

Facts are, it's the consumer that gets to the pay court costs for the whole shooting match. Where do we get to the value in that?

Just sounds like a Thomas Edison screw fest all over again.
