I acidentally got a V9 Mars II Chip, and I found out that I had a V7 PS2. Can I stilll use the modchip and install it into my PS2 so it works and doesnt screw up my PS2? Or is the hardware and CPU system different between V7 and V9? Or are there any different soldering points on V7 that I can use to solder my Mars II chip other than the V9 PS2 solder points?

Thx

I got a mars II for my V5 and im having huge problems with it. It will boot my backups (Verbatium 16x) but will hiccup and freez when playing into them. This also happens with the original disk too. I have already swaped out the laser with a different one and i still get the same problems. I think it's the chip but i need you guy's opinion.
