European Parliament refuses to disclose legal opinion on ACTA

article published on 15 November, 2011

Even with the full details of ACTA having long since been made public, EU officials continue to deny public access to vital information about whether signing it would violate the law. Although the majority of ACTA negotiators were from EU members, and the EU even sent representatives to the ACTA signing ceremony, a review of the treaty's legal ramifications is required before it can be ratified. ... [ read the full article ]

Talk about garbage like a new world order trying to make a move for global domination. Garbage like this does little to squelch the nay sayers. Granted, it is hinged on whether the EU Parliament votes in favor of the ACTA & refuses to release their justification.

But are we going to see rioting in the streets again or has/is this story been buried on the back pages of the luxury automotive ads where nobody can afford to look through & slip by without actually being stressed? I certainly haven't heard about it on the world reports.

Once again, this garbage may sneak through the judicial system long enough to get a strong hold & stain the halls so as to never leave despite how hard we try. Years after the fact.

My bet is that the EU Parliament will throw it out if it's in the form reported.
Too many MEPs will just vote against it when it comes down to it.

I hope you're right. There are definitely some MEPs who were vocal about their opposition to the way it was negotiated. It would be nice to see somebody stand up and be accountable
