Philips dvdr75 Time/Date display problem

Hi All:
I'm finding that when I record with my Philips dvdr75 recorder the time/date display shows in the bottom right corner of the screen when I play the recorded dvd on another dvd player.
I've called tech support and they say that nothing can be done about this display.
Hopefully someone out there has an answer for me on how I can hide/prevent this.
