I own a couple locally-produced DVDs that are not encrypted or copy protected. I want to create audio CDs from the audio of these DVDs. Can anyone point me towards some freebie software or tutorials that will help me do this? Sorry if this has been asked and answered; I tried reading through a couple of the guides, but I'm a newbie with this stuff and I got quickly overwhelmed!

Thanks!

Some DVD-audio guys probably know in what format your audio is, but I don't. Or, do these DVDs have video too, but you just want the audio?
I bet you could put about 10 hours of redbook CD audio on one DVD...
But try Smartripper

Enable stream processing and 'demux audio to extra file'.
(Smartripper doesn't expect unprotected DVDs so you may have to select 'don't decrypt' to get things happening.)
Let us know how you get on,
Regards

Thanks for the reply! Yes, these DVDs have audio and video, and I just want to grab the audio to CD. I don't know anything about the DVD audio or video format yet, but I'll try your SmartRipper suggestion. Thanks...
