CDR Boot Question

Someone is telling me that he has a CDR Copy of HD Loader and that it will boot up on a PS2 without a Modchip. It isn't possible to boot a CDR backup without some type of boot method right?

That is correct. It is possible to backup the HD Loader disc, however, you have to use the backup with either a modchip or swap method. I have successfully used a backup of HD Loader with my Magic V modded PS2 although I'm not sure what's involed with getting it to working using the swap method.
