Sure...you can use a program like PowerQuest Drive Image to make an image of the HD that is broken up into CD-size chunks...you will end up burning anywhere from two to many many CDs depending on the size of the HD. The image that is created by PQDI is compressed.

I've never personally or professionally used PQ Drive Image.. I do love partition magic though, the newest version is so easy, I love it! I usually use Norton's Ghost Corporate Edition 7.6, and have successfully created several bootable cd's with restore capablilities, a couple which had different operating systems built in as well *windows 95/98 don't take up much space on a cd* .. I will have to give PQ a try.. Thanks!

Yes Drive image is very good , if your Harddrive has space make a partition then save a backup onto that.you can make a set of bootable floppys with drive image to restore from whatever source you want..

Yes, and also newer versions of Drive Image allow you to create CDs that are bootable, so you can slip in the CD of the image and make sure your BIOS allows you to boot to CD, you will probably have to hit the space bar to invoke booting from CD or something, but it saves you having to make bootable floppies, and doesn't take up hardly any room on the CD! Yah!
